4. RULES AND CONDITIONS
4.1 Court Use
Courts are not available during scheduled competitions which are listed on the clubhouse door. If you wish to participate in competitions (currently held Wednesday and Thursday nights) please contact Kerry Dommisse 0439 310 146 for Wednesday nights or Rose Stewart on 9578 3414 for Thursday nights.
Courts may be booked for regular play via the Secretary. Otherwise all courts are subject to availability.
The following order of priority shall apply at all times when assessing court availability:
• Regular coaching sessions and regular competition takes precedence over all other play
• Nothwithstanding the above, doubles play takes precedence over singles play (single players who are already on court when doubles players arrive should preferably invite doubles players to join them or vacate the courts for doubles players as soon as they have completed the set they were playing when the doubles players arrived).
• On days of heavy use (e.g summer weekends) groups should limit their play to approximately 90 minutes if other groups are waiting to play.
In accordance with current water restrictions, courts must be watered before sets and bagged at the end of every match.
All players must be members of St.Kevin’s Tennis Club. If a non-member wishes to join in a one-off match, a fee of $5 must be placed in appropriate box located in clubrooms.
4.2 Conditions on the use to the St Kevin’s Tennis Club Floodlights
All St Kevin’s Tennis Club members must adhere to the City Of Glen Eira conditions on the use of the court floodlights as detailed below.
Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) – From first Sunday in April to First Saturday in October
• Monday to Thursday – Lights must be turned off by 10pm, and the premises must be vacated by all persons by 10.30pm;
• Friday and Saturday – Lights must be turned off by 11pm, and the premises must be vacated by all persons by 11.30pm;
• Sunday – Lights must be turned off by 7.30pm and the premises must be vacated by all persons by 8pm.
Daylight Savings Time (DST) – From first Sunday in October to First Saturday in April
• Monday to Sunday – Lights must be turned off by 11pm, and the premises must be vacated by all persons by 11.30pm.
4.3 General Rules
All members are eligible to be a key holder allowing them access to the courts and clubhouse. Please note that the club requires payment of a $50 key deposit before a key can be issued. This deposit is wholly refundable upon return of the key should the holder cancel or not renew his/her membership. Please contact the Treasurer (see below) should you require a key.
Club rooms must be kept clean at all times.
We invite participation in all levels of our club. For instance we look forward to your support of our Annual General Meeting which is held in April or may of each year. All members are entitled to enjoy the celebrations including BBQ spit roast.
St Kevin’s Tennis Club is an un-manned community tennis club. We therefore require all members to abide by and enforce the above rules in the interests of ensuring a fair go for all other members at all times. Failure to abide by the rules of the club can result in membership cancellation at the discretion of Committee.
5. FEES AND PAYMENT
Membership fees are: Single membership: $80 per year, Family membership: $130 per year. St Kevin’s Tennis Club accepts cash, cheques or EFT* only. Please make cheques payable to ‘St. Kevin’s Parish Tennis Club’. Please note the committee of St Kevin’s Tennis Club is not able to consider applications for membership unless payment is attached. St Kevin’s Tennis Club membership fees cover the period 1 January to 31 December each year. St Kevin’s Tennis Club does not accept pro rata payments for periods of less than one year.
